Bryan Russell Obituary

Bryan Lee Russell, 31, of Robinson, left this world to be with our Lord Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2011. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 28, at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Dr., with Pastor Brandon Berry officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Bryan was born Sept. 10, 1979, in Robinson, to Rex and Brenda Russell. He passed away peacefully in the presence of his beloved wife, children, family and friends in his home. He fought a long and courageous battle against cancer and was healed by our Father completely as he knew he would be. He had all the faith and strength in the world and never gave up no matter what. By his faith, he brought many lives to be with Jesus Christ our Lord. He loved the Lord with all his heart. His precious Laci, Choyce and Chayse meant so much to him. He was truly a momma's boy and was his daddy's tag along and buddy for life. Bryan and Laci were inseparable for 15 years and shared a beautiful life together. His hobbies were fishing with his dad and uncles, golf, gaming with boys and brother, Bradley, helping with the youth ministry, and he loved to cook. He was passionate artist, cabinet maker at JR's custom cabinets, and spent many years at the city of Waco Parks and Recreation. He loved praising the Lord, listening to all kinds of music, making people laugh, and he loved animals, especially Izzi. Bryan always had a smile on his face and a twinkle in his eye. We will all miss our special son, husband, father, brother, friend, and Bubba. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Herbert Russell; nanny, Mable Russell; and uncle, Michael Buenger. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Laci Russell; sons, Choyce and Chayse Russell; father, Rex Russell; mother, Brenda Russell; brother, Bradley Russell; grandparents, Butch Walker and wife, Dot; aunts and uncles, Bryan Dulock and wife, Paula, Henry Veselka and wife, Barbra, Steve Russell and wife, Yvonne, Gerald Russell, Walter Russell and wife, Charlotte, and Greg Russell and wife, Debbie; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; father-in-law, Joe Courtney and wife, Terri; sister-in-law, Lindsi Courtney; uncle, Montie; aunt, B.J.; grams, Rosiland Wilkins; one of his best friends, Jason Wilkins; and talking buddy, Karol Kuehl. Pallbearers and best friends are David Marshall, Brandon Marshall, Jason Wilkins, John Reed, Justin Mahan, and Ryan Escobar. The family wishes to thank MD Anderson Cancer Center, Heather and Dr. V with Hospice, and all those who loved Bryan. Brenda and Rex,
I'm sure you probably don't remember me, but I was friends with Brian and Bradley from highschool and occasionally rode my bike to your house. I'm truly sorry for the heartache your family must feel. I had no idea Bryan was sick and I am shaken at the news of his loss. You have my deepest condolences.

Sincerely,
John Kinder

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

To the family that mourns, the wife that weeps, and to the children to small to understand why; my deepest and heartfelt sympathy in your time of true lost.

John: 14:1-4
Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going.
