Pat Hoffman Obituary

Pat Hoffman, 76, died September 6, 2013, at her home in Rosenthal, Texas. A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, September 14, at Robinson Church of Christ. The family requests that attendees wear bright colors in celebration of Pat's vibrant outlook on life.

Ms. Hoffman was born on November 17, 1936, in Lott, Texas, to George and Carrie (Martin) McBride. She graduated from Texas School for the Deaf in May 1956 and married Melvin James Hoffman the following July. She was employed by Central Freight Lines for 35 years. An avid bowler, Ms. Hoffman served as treasurer for the Waco Deaf Bowlers and secretary for the Southwest Deaf Women Bowling Association. She was also vice-president of the Central Texas Deaf Senior Citizens and treasurer for the Waco Deaf Club.

Ms. Hoffman is survived by her husband, Melvin Hoffman, and three children: Tammie Pope of Tuscola, Texas, Teddy Hoffman of West, Texas, and Kevin Hoffman of Rosenthal, Texas. Other survivors include her son-in-law, Kelly Buford; daughters-in-law, Rachel Hoffman and Jerry Hoffman; grandchildren, Presley Hoffman, Hadley Hoffman, and Reaghan Hoffman; sisters, Coy Ellen Barber and Barbara McBride-Smith; brother-in-law, Dennis Smith; sister-in-law, Sandra Lightfoot; and Ms. Hoffman's beloved pets Brady, Champ, Snowy, and Honey.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Pat Hoffman's memory to All Texas Dachshund Rescue at www.atdr.org.
