Jeremy Pryor Obituary
Jeremy was born April 18, 1974, in Houston, to Pat and Gail Pryor. He grew up in Waco, graduating from Midway High School in 1992, and Baylor University with a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and a MBA. With his passing, the good ol' Baylor Bears have lost their most loyal fan.
At even a young age, Jeremy demonstrated an open-hearted nature, befriended many, forgave all, and was quick to celebrate the moment and the simple and good things in life. Throughout his life, he maintained a consistency of character only achieved by a few in this world. He was a loyal and loving son, brother, and, above all, friend.
As result of his education, extensive travel, and unique pursuits and demeanor, he developed a deep respect for the natural world, viewing its protection and preservation as not only essential for our species survival, but also from the view of the Native American culture of the natural world as sacred. He was proud to have been adopted by the Eastern Shoshone tribe, and named "Nummawunt," meaning "one of us". He gave his best in his work with The Nature Conservancy and various environmental consulting firms.
Jeremy was a member of First Baptist Church of Waco. In childhood, he was active in many activities and ministries, culminating in a mission experience in Guatemala in 2010.
He is survived by his parents, Pat and Patricia Gail Pryor; brother, Matt Pryor and wife, Paige; sister, Amanda Pryor O'Connor and husband, Christiaan; one nephew, Jake Pryor; and two nieces, Mairead and Caitrin O'Connor; god-sister and god-brother, Luoana and Bogdan Cirlan; uncle, Bobby Sanders and wife, Phyllis; cousins, Shelli Sanders, Jill Quarantino, Leann Sanders and Natalie Sanders; a legacy of friendship that reaches around the world; and last but not least, Willie.

I did not know Jeremy, but have known and respected Pat during the thirty years I have practiced in Waco. Many of Jeremy's stories and eulogies make me feel that he had remarkable similarities to my younger son, Neal. As the father of two sons and a daughter, believe me when I say that I empathize with the pain of your loss and pray for your families healing and peace.

I knew Jeremy in college and was part of the Utah clan. Chris & I were lucky enough to spend time with Jeremy and your wonderful family on the Frio River. Mandy, Matt, Gail and Pat,
I can't express how sorry I am for your loss. I will never forget the wonderful memories Jeremy and I shared together - enjoying the Pryor Patch, Frio, Kerrville folk festivals, travels to Utah, Baylor football and basketball games, and most of all listening to Jeremy's philosophical debates and tales from his exotic travels and anthropology field trips. He is one of the most humble and kind spirited people I have met. He befriended all who he met, judged no one and had a gift for enjoying the simple things in life. We can all learn from those traits and are better people for knowing Jerm. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Dear Pryor Family,
Jeremy and I were close through childhood thanks to First Baptist Church. The obituary perfectly stated his wonderful demeanor and kind heart. Each time I would visit Waco over the many years since high school, I would look forward to running into him, always remembering how much I enjoyed his company. I cannot imagine the loss you feel. The only words I can say that perhaps will bring some solice, is that you did a remarkable job rearing him, such that he will was loved, and will be missed, by many people. Thank you for sharing him with us and please find some peace knowing that he is with his God now. I hear heaven is an amazing place and can't wait to hug him there. Dear Dr Pat, Gail, Matt and Amanda, Don and I were so shocked and saddened at the passing of Jeremy. How proud you all must be of his accomplishments - health,care and respect for the sacredness of our mother earth. I wish I had known him as an adult, as I share his same passions. And thank heavens you didn't restrict his "free sprit" which was present at the young age of 4 and 5 when he liked to get on the roof of your second storey home. Had I only known better. Thank you for raising him that he was able to give to so many in just a short life. May God hold you all in the palms of His Hands as you mourn his death.
