Edward Petter Obituary

Edward "Mr. Ed" John Petter Jr., 71, of McQueeney, passed away Nov. 29, 2011. Visitation was held Saturday, Dec. 3, at Tres Hewell Mortuary. Private interment will be held at a later date.

Edward was born June 11, 1940, in Abbott, Texas, to Edward John Sr., and Helen Veranica Bezdek Petter. He was a member of the Abbott High School Class of 1958, and proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. In 1963, Edward began his career in the United States Postal Service. He served as Postmaster in Belton and later in Seguin from 1988 until his retirement in 2002. He currently enjoyed his work at the Bus Barn for the Seguin Independent School District.

His parents and his brother, Raymond Petter, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Petter; sons, Russell Petter and Lance Petter and wife ,Jamie; step-daughters, Trela Patterson and Monica Shows and husband, Matt; six grandchildren, Cade, Cory, Cole, Miranda, Alexis and Jessica; sister, Joyce Nors; sister-in-law, Hilda Petter; several nieces, nephews and numerous cousins.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, c/o Jeanette Siltmann, 196 Townesend Road, Seguin, Texas, 78155, or to the charity of one's choice.

Edward was good friend and so much fun to be around. I was a classmate of his all the way from first grade to 12 th. I have many good memories about our time together. I am very sorry that he was lost this soon. Jerry Clements, Richmond, Texas
