George O. Pettyjohn Sr., 89, passed into eternal rest Feb. 14, 2013, in Huntsville. Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 18, at Robinson Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at Waco Memorial Funeral Home.
George was born Jan. 16, 1924, in Neodesha, Kan., to Charles and Louise Pettyjohn. He was a Navy Veteran of WWII and later worked as an operator in a chemical plant. He married Mary Kemp on Nov. 30, 1946, and they had four children.
George was preceded in death by his wife, Mary, in 2002; and son, Prentice, in 1974.
He is survived by two sons, George O. Pettyjohn II and Charles Pettyjohn; daughter, Brenda Bolton; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and brother, Wilbur Eugene Pettyjohn.
