Bertil Peterson of Waltham died early Tuesday morning, November 13 , 2012, at the Newton Health Care Center after a lengthy illness. He was 78. Bert was born and raised in Waltham to the late Karl Pettersson and Elsa (Johnson) Pettersson; he was a lifelong resident of Waltham and a graduate of Waltham High School. Mr. Peterson served honorably in The United States Army during the Korean War. He was a member of several local veterans organizations. After serving in the Army Bert came home and worked for Raytheon for several years. He was an entrepreneur and started several of his own businesses along with a partner. He was a real estate agent for Middlesex Realty, he owned Eastern Mass. Parking Line, Just a Minute Oil Change and Cash Home Heating Oil. Mr. Peterson was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed watching and rooting for the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. He is survived by his twin brother Bengt A. Pettersson of Hingham, and Danny Peterson of North Grafton, his godson Robert Griggs of New Hampshire and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Carl Peterson. Relatives & Friends are respectfully invited to attend a Graveside Service in celebration of Bert's life at the Mount Feake Cemetery, 203 Prospect St., Waltham, Friday November 16, 2012 at 10 a.m., Visiting hours will be held at the Brasco & Sons Memorial, 773 Moody St., WALTHAM, Thursday, November 15, 2012 from 4-8 p.m. Parking attendants will be on duty.
