Dorothy Lyon Fietze of Burlington, MA formerly of Lexington, MA passed away peacefully on Monday April 9, into the loving hands of God at the age of 81. She is survived by the love of her life for 63 years: Ronald J. Fietze of Burlington. Their first date was the Senior Prom. Beloved mother of Deborah Jo LeBlanc and her husband Yves LeBlanc of Waltham, and Mary Jane Fietze also of Burlington. Loving Nana to Christine Leone, Ronelle LeBlanc and Renee LeBlanc. Cherished daughter of the late William Henry and Effie S. Lyon who raised their family in Lexington. Sister to the late William Henry Lyon Jr., Robert Lowell Lyon, and Richard MacAlpine Lyon. She is survived by her dear sisters Judith Ann Quinn and Elizabeth Conant Bucell. She will be dearly missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins; and many close friends whom she considered family. She graduated from Lexington High School in 1954 and attended Garland College in Boston. She was an avid reader. She enjoyed welcoming friends and family in her home which was full of love and laughter, and she will be remembered for her delicious Chowder and Baked Beans. She cherished many summers at the Cape as a child and as a mother and passed on her love of nature to her daughters, and granddaughters. Dorothy was a lifelong Girl Scout. She had a strong faith and was baptized, confirmed and married at the Episcopal Church in Lexington. In lieu of flowers donations made be made to Church of Our Redeemer, Lexington. She cared deeply for everyone in her family and she will be profoundly missed. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
