Mary A. (Reusing) Pergola Arnold, of Exeter, Pennsylvania formerly of Waltham, MA passed away peacefully December 16, 2012 at the Berkshire Center in Reading, Pennsylvania at the age of 95. Beloved wife of Jesse F. Arnold, whom she married in 1995, she was predeceased by her first loving husband, Jack Pergola, in 1993. Born on May 21, 1917 in Reading, Pennsylvania; she was the daughter of the late John and Anna (Sutter) Reusing. Mary was a graduate of St. Paul's Business School. After school Mary and her family moved to Massachusetts and resided in the City of Waltham where she worked as the Registrar of Voters until her retirement in 1990. In 1995 Mary moved back to Reading, Pennsylvania and married Jesse. She was a member of St. Catharine of Sienna Roman Catholic Church, Mt. Penn. Mary and Jesse loved to travel at home and abroad. She enjoyed spending time with her family and was a wonderful and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be dearly missed. In addition to her husband she is survived by her four children: David L. Pergola and his wife Margaret of Belmont, MA; Carl V. Pergola and his wife Frances of Cumberland, RI; Mary Ann Barrick and her husband Walter Barrick of West Townsend, MA and Diane T. Pergola of Cambridge, MA. Also surviving are her three step children: Ronald J.Arnold and his wife Margaret of FL; Barbara A. Emery and her husband Edward of Sinking Spring, PA and Ruth Ann Lutz and her husband Christopher of Mt. Penn, PA, 7 grandchildren, 12 step grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 22 step great-grandchildren also survive her. She was predeceased by 6 siblings. Relatives & Friends were invited to attend Funeral Services from the Brasco & Sons Memorial Chapels, 773 Moody Street, Waltham on Saturday morning, Dec. 22nd at 8:30 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial in celebration of Mary's Life at Sacred Heart Church, 311 River Street, Waltham at 10:00 a.m. Interment followed at Mount Feake Cemetery in Waltham. Visitation was held prior to the Funeral Mass at the Funeral Home from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Sacred Heart Church at the above address or American Breast Cancer Foundation, 1220 B East Joppa Rd, Suite 332, Towson, Maryland 21286. -
