Robert J. Keefe, of Newton died Saturday, September 21, 2013 at the Newton-Wellesley Hospital. He was 66. Robert was a born and raised in Newton to the late Edward and Grace (Boudreau) Keefe. He was a 1965 graduate of Newton North High School and attended classes at Framingham State College. Mr. Keefe served honorably in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He was employed by Veteran's Taxi in Waltham as a dispatcher for 24 years before his retirement in 2011. Mr. Keefe was a member of the Newton Elks Club and was an avid golfer. He was a member of Wayland Country Club and was a club champion several times. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years Terri (Vereker) Keefe, his devoted children Kelly Keefe and her companion John Morancey of Providence, and Jamie Keefe of Ashland, his cherished grandson Colin, his brother the late Ed Keefe and his wife Janet (Younker) Keefe of Waltham, and Tom and Linda (Muddle) Vereker of Scituate, and his nieces and nephew Kayla Keefe of Waltham, Jennifer Vereker of Hull, and John Vereker and his wife Hannah of Milford. He is also survived by 2 great nephews. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend funeral services from the Brasco & Sons Memorial, 773 Moody St., WALTHAM, Saturday at 9 a.m. with a Memorial Mass in celebration of Robert's life at Corpus Christi - St. Bernard Parish, 1529 Washington St., Newton, MA 02465 at 10 a.m.. Visiting hours will be held Friday from 4-8 p.m. Parking attendants will be on duty. Expressions of sympathy may be made in Robert's memory to the , P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312.
