Donald Joseph Curtin, of Waltham, died at the Epoch Senior Healthcare Center. He was 78. Born in Waltham to the late Edward and Helen (O'Hara) Curtin, he was a lifelong resident of Waltham. Donald served honorably in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He was a member of the Waltham V.F.W. post 2152, and the Waltham American Legion post 156. He was employed by the Town of Wellesley in the Parks and Recreation department for many years. In his spare time Donald enjoyed following the local sports teams especially the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. Donald was the beloved husband of the late Annmarie (McDonnell) Curtin, father of John "Jack" Curtin, grandfather of the late John Curtin, and father-in-law of the late Richard Perkins, Jr. He is survived by his loving children Michael Curtin and his wife Tina of California, Donna Perkins of Waltham, Annmarie Petersen and her husband David of Westford, Sandra DeAcetis and her husband Anthony of Hubbardston, and Donald Curtin of Westminster. He is also survived by 11 cherished grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. A Private Funeral Service will be held in celebration of Donald's life.
