Benjamin Fredrick Frick, 91, Warrenton, passed away Sunday, June 8, 2014. |
Ben was born Sept. 24, 1922, in Warrenton, to Benjamin Franklin Frick and wife Lillie Ione, nee Hill.
He attended the Navy School of Music in Washington, D.C., in 1942. Ben served his country during World War II as a Navy musician second class on the Iowa and Idaho until 1947. He was employed from 1952 to 1987 at McDonnell Douglas, St. Louis. Ben worked on several projects, including the Harpoon missile, Sky Lab, the Mercury and Gemini projects and the Space Shuttle Program.
He married Lois Temme July 3, 1955, in Shelbyville. They had two daughters, Miriam and Kathryn. The couple spent 58 wonderful years together.
Ben was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin and Lillie Frick; one brother, William Frick; and one sister; Mary Symes.
He is survived by his loving wife, Lois Frick, Warrenton; two daughters, Miriam Lohmann and husband Willi, Portland, Ore., and Katie McDowell and husband Steve, Warrenton; two grandchildren, Adrienne and Natalie; one sister, Marcia Bremmer and husband Jim, Marthasville; one brother, Robert Frick and wife Carolyn, Warrenton; other relatives and many friends.
Visitation was held Wednesday, June 11, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home, 510 E. Main St., Warrenton, MO 63383.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 12, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Warrenton, at 11 a.m.
Burial will follow at Warrenton City Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the Warrenton High School Band or St. John's Lutheran Church, in care of the funeral home.
