I was a classmate of Bill's for four years at Greenbelt High School. I remember Bill as one of our best and brightest. He was a kind and gentle soul, more mature than most of us. I wish I had known him better. Our interests, it turned out, were so similar, though I did not know it then. I was a research physicist at NRL and later NEL, San Diego, where I later taught college physics before retiring. Rest in peace, Bill, and my sincere condolences to all his family.

Dear Louise, Linda, Elizabeth, William, Jack, Claire, and Emerson:
We are so sorry to hear about the loss of Bill - husband, father and grandfather to you respectively. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all as you deal with your grief. We only had the pleasure of knowing him for a brief time before his illness, but always enjoyed hearing his stories told in such an intellectual and humorous manner. God bless you and take good care.
