SHIRLEY R. DUPREE
Shirley Rae Dupree, age 73, passed away August 22, 2013 at her home in Silver Spring, Maryland. She died from a combination of Frontotemporal dementia (FTD) and ALS. Jim Hanley of New York. Mrs. Dupree enjoyed tennis, and later became an avid golfer. After her Congressional career she also sold women's fashions and had a needlepoint finishing business. Shirley was preceded in death by her brother, Charles Holmes; her father, Ray Holmes; and her mother Pauline. Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Jim Dupree of Silver Spring, Maryland; her daughter Jacqueline of Washington, D.C.; her son Jamie of Bethesda, Maryland; and three grandchildren. Services will be held September 7 at 10:30 a.m. at Champion Ferries Funeral Home in Sheridan, Wyoming. A reception follows at the Sheridan Elks Club. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to one of two groups: the Sheridan County 4-H Foundation, 224 South Main St. Suite B-10, Sheridan, WY 82801; or to the Frontotemporal Dementia Clinic at Johns Hopkins Medicine, Dr. Chiadi Onyike, Director, 550 North Broadway, Suite 914, Baltimore, MD 21205.

I am so sorry for your loss. Shirley and I were very good friends in high school and graduated with the class of 1958. We had lost touch through the years but she will always remain a friend in my heart. My husband and I send our deepest sympathy to the family. She is now in the loving arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
