LOUIS ALBERT EBERSOLD, DDS, JD (Age 70)
On Monday, January 14, 2013, Dr. Louis A. Ebersold died peacefully at his home after a brave battle with Primary Lateral Sclerosis. He was formerly of Cleveland, OH and Potomac, Md. Beloved husband for 45 years of Diana "Dee" Lane Ebersold; loving father of Craig Randall Ebersold and Caroline (Mark) Ebersold Horwath. Devoted grandfather of Eliot and Corinne Horwath. He was preceded in death by his parents, Julian and Sarah Ebersold of Colorado and a sister, Diane Tull of Texas. He leaves behind two sisters and a brother, many nieces and nephews, and a sister in law. Dr. Ebersold served in the Air Force for 2 years and was stationed at Lowry Air Force Base in Denver, Colorado. He attended Ohio Wesleyan University, The Ohio State University Dental School, and George Washington University Law Center. He lectured, provided expert testimony, and wrote a book on dental malpractice (1986). For 25 years he practiced general dentistry in D.C. and the Maryland suburbs. For much of the 1990's he provided nursing home residents with mobile-care. While living in Avon, Ohio Louis continued to delve into community dentistry with The Free Clinic of Greater Cleveland as well as in several Northern Ohio prisons. He also worked for the American Dental Association and taught at Case Western Reserve. Loupa, as his grandchildren affectionetly called him, had many hobbies and interests including Civil War history, trains, and making the people around him laugh with his dry, often silly wit. Friends are invited to celebrate his life on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at his home in Woodstock, MD from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Gilchrist Hospice Care, Inc. 11311 McCormick Rd., Suite 350, Hunt Valley, MD 21031. Interment at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery.
