  ADELL BYRD ALSOP   Adell Byrd Alsop, 81, of Newtown, VA departed this life on Saturday, February 21, 2015. She was a Maryland resident for many years in Baltimore and Silver Spring.   A viewing will be held from 2 to 7 p.m. on Friday, February 27 at First Mt. Olive Baptist Church, 7820 Newtown Rd., Newtown, VA 23126 with the family receiving visitors from 6 to 7 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 28 at noon at First Mt. Olive.     CARL GEORGE ANDERSON (Age 78)   Of Rocky Mount went to be with the Lord on Monday, February 23, 2015. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Sarah Anderson; and one son, Michael George Anderson. He was a loving husband and devoted father and grandfather. Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Judith Anderson; two sons, Eric (Heather) Anderson, Robert (Tiffanee) Anderson; grandchildren, Paige Anderson, Caleb Anderson and William Campbell; brothers, John Anderson, Paul (Delphine) Anderson; one aunt, Thelma Reilly; many nieces, nephews and friends. He was a member of Rocky Mount Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers the family suggest donations be made to the Rocky Mount United Methodist Church Building Fund or curepsp.org . Memorial services will be conducted from Rocky Mount United Methodist Church 11 a.m. Thursday with Rev. Bruce D. Tuttle officiating. Inurnment will take place 1 p.m. Saturday at Mount Hebron Cemetery in Winchester, Va. His family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Rocky Mount United Methodist Church.   JANE PHILLIPS ARBERG (Age 96)   On February 20, 2015, Jane Arberg passed away in Arlington, VA. Loving wife of the late Dr. Harold Walton "Bud" Arberg Sr., she is survived by her sons Harold (Sandra) Arberg Jr., Phillips (Catherine) Arberg, Robert (Elaine) Arberg, and Charles (Kathleen) Arberg; her grandchildren Jennifer, Chad, Corbin, Katherine, Alison, Andrew, and Cary; and one great-grandchild Brittany. Jane was preceded in death by her husband Bud and her grandson Jonathan. A service will be held at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. BALKUS, MEILA K.  
  MEILA KAIRIUKSTYTE BALKUS (Age 92)   Passed away on February 14, 2015. Left her native Lithuania during World War II and came to the U.S. in 1948 with her (now deceased) husband Kozmas, and infant daughter. An artist her entire life, she received a Fellowship Grant from the National Endowment for the Arts and exhibited her sculpture in numerous galleries in New York City, Boston, and Washington DC. A member of the Washington Sculptor's Group; worked for the Lithuanian Service of the Voice of America for seven years. Her sculpture is in the permanent collection of the M.K.Ciurlionis National Art Museum in Kaunas, Lithuania. Survived by daughter Daiva, granddaughter Ona, sister Dr. Aldona Dambrauskiene and family. A gathering of friends and family may be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimers Association or the Arbor Day Foundation.
