  MATTHEW FINCH (Age 56)   Died suddenly at home in Hagerstown, MD, on November 23, 2014. He is survived by his brothers, John and wife, Deborah, James and wife Kathryn, Joseph and wife, Brenda, his sister, Mary and two nieces, Sarah Jackson and Rebecca Finch of San Antonio, TX. A memorial service will be held at J.L. Davis Funeral Home in Smithsburg, MD on Friday November 28 at 12 Noon.

FREEDMAN, MIRIAM C.  
  MIRIAM CAROLE FREEDMAN   Longtime resident of Rockville Maryland, passed away peacefully with family by her side on November 21, 2014. She was 74 years old.   Carole was born to Sol and Edith Lash on August 2, 1940 in Detroit, Michigan.   She was preceded in death by her husband, Alan Michael and her beloved son, Eric Mark.   She is survived by brother, Leonard (Cheryl) Lash of Florida and her sons, Andrew Evan of South Carolina, Joseph Daniel of Arizona, and Jason Edward (Elizabeth) of Colorado. She has four adored grandchildren, Andrew Scott and Michele Alison of South Carolina, Benjamin Stocker and Charles Alan of Colorado.   In lieu of flowers, Memorial gifts may be made in Carole's name to your local chapter of the Alzheimer's Association. Funeral services will be held at Danzansky-Goldberg Memorial Chapel in Rockville at 10:30 a.m. on November 30, 2014.

HALSEY, JAMES  
    JAMES HALSEY "Jim"   Of Fenwick Island, DE; originally from Silver Spring, MD died suddenly on Friday, November 21, 2014, at the age of 74. Jim was a loving, kind, generous soul who was respected and well liked by everyone he came in contact with. After many business ventures he found his true calling as concessionaire for the Washington Redskins and proud owner of the Stadium Stores in Wheaton, Md. and Sterling, Va. Jim often said that not too many people get the chance to have a job they really love and be a Redskin fan all at the same time. Jim was very active with the Touchdown Club of Washington, D.C.; Kiwanis Club; Hogette Charities; Moose; Elks and many other local service organizations. Jim was an avid golfer and enjoyed a life long love of "oldies" music and music trivia. He was a loving husband, father, treasured family member and loyal friend to many. Jim is survived by his wife of 42 years, Patti, his son, JJ and his wife, Tracy, and his beautiful grandchildren, Katelyn and Ryan. A private memorial service to be held at a later date.

  RANDALL SAWYER HART   October 23, 1991 - November 23, 2014   Died Sunday morning in Harrisonburg, VA, where he was scheduled to graduate this December from James Madison University with a degree in Business Administration. Randy attended Gonzaga College High School in Washington, DC, and graduated from T.C. Williams High School in Alexandria, VA, in 2010. Randy was the beloved son of Chris and Cindy Hart of Alexandria, and loving brother of Sarah Hart of Atlanta, GA, and Laura, Tommy, Melanie, Julia, Peter, and Stephen Hart of Alexandria. He is also survived by his grandfather, Robert Sawyer of Williamsburg, VA. Viewing will be held at Everly-Wheatley Funeral Home, 1500 W. Braddock Rd., Alexandria on Friday, November 28, 2014 from 6 to 8 p.m. with a Vigil and Rosary service at 7:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 29, 2014 at St. Rita Catholic Church, 3815 Russell Road, Alexandria. Interment will be held at Ivy Hill Cemetery in Alexandria at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Catholic Charities in honor of Randy ( www.catholiccharities.usa .org). HICKS, KATHRYN  
  KATHRYN HICKS (Age 65)   On November 23, 2014; of Arlington lost her three year battle with Pancreatic Cancer surrounded by loved ones. She is survived by beloved husband Douglas of 43 years. Devoted mother to Stuart (Teresa), and Heather (Russ). Loving grandmother to Morgan, Marc, Aidan, Austin, and Kaitlyn, and great grandson Elijah. She is also survived by five sisters and brothers-in-law, and many nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Her passion for cooking and sewing will be remembered by many. She was with J F Lehman for 20 years. Memorial Services with reception will be Sunday, November 30, at 2 p.m. at Good Shepard Lutheran Church, 100 W. Luray Ave, Alexandria, VA. Donations can be made in her honor to Pancreatic Cancer Action Network ( www.pancan.org ). Under direction of Northern Virginia Burial & Cremation Society.

  GEORGE BRYAN JONES   Of Philadelphia, PA died on Sunday, November 23, 2014 at the age of 67. He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Chester; daughter, Carrie Beth Jones (William Ferullo, Esq.); sister, Jennifer Perey (Randall J.); and was predeceased by his son, Christian Bryan Jones. KILCARR, BARBARA A.  
    BARBARA ANNE KILCARR   Survived by her husband of 60 years, Andrew Kilcarr and her two children Theresa Kilcarr Balaran (Paul Balaran) and Patrick Kilcarr (Alienor Kilcarr), passed away peacefully in her sleep at home Monday morning, November 24, 2014. Barbara was a dedicated member of the Washington National Opera and volunteered her time and talents for many years seeing the opera grow into meaningful presence in the Washington area. One of life's greatest gifts to Barbara were her grandchildren. Payton, Bryce, Benjamin, Mason, Trent, Troy, Reese, Delaney and Olympia. She was such a loving person, dedicated wife and mother and dotting grandmother. We want to extend our deepest gratitude to Mrs. Anita Jennings and her team for their tireless care and support. Capital Caring, the hospice care Barbara used were an invaluable source of support as well. Funeral services will be at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Arlington, VA at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, November 26, 2014. Internment will be private, family only at Columbia Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Kennedy Center with a designation to the Washington National Opera.

  JIMMY WEE LEE   On Friday, November 21, 2014, Jimmy Wee Lee, died peacefully after living beautifully for 96 years. Beloved husband of the late Ngue Orr Lee. Affectionately called "Pop", he was the father of the late Sharon Lee Chin (Felix), John Lee (Nancy), Henry Lee (Linda), Mary Lee Tom (Eugene, deceased), and Cherry Lee Wong (Walter); 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. Friends may visit at HINES-RINALDI FUNERAL HOME, 11800 New Hampshire Ave., Silver Spring, MD on Friday, November 28, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. where services will be held Saturday, November 29 at 10 a.m. Interment George Washington Cemetery.

MAHER, JOHN  
  JOHN MAHER "Jack" (Age 86)   On November 23, 2014, longtime resident of Vienna, VA, died peacefully at his residence. He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Joan Maher. Together they had six children; Michael (Mary Ellen), Patty, Ned (Jennie), Jackie (Michael), Dan (Julie) and MaryJo (Bob); 17 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his older brother William Maher and is survived by his two sisters, Patricia Casey and Sharon Villjoen. Jack served in the Marines and was a collegiate athlete. He lettered in football, lacrosse, and boxing at Syracuse University. He retired from a successful career with the Federal Government and went on to pursue his passion of marriage and family counseling and received a PHD from American University. Jack and his wife Joan were longtime marriage and family therapists at St. Marks Catholic Church. Viewing on Friday, November 28, 2014 from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Fairfax Memorial Funeral Home, 9902 Braddock Rd., Fairfax, VA 22032 followed by Mass at St. Marks Catholic Church, 9970 Vale Rd., Vienna, VA 22181 at 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association of America or Vitas Hospice Care of Northern Virginia. www.fmfh.com
