ANNA KATHERINE TEAGUE "Kate"  

Age 84 died at Medstar Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC on Sunday, April 7, 2013. Born January 25, 1929 to the late Albert Young and Marie Tucker. She was raised and educated in the school system in Mullen, WV and graduated with a Bachelorette Degree in Secondary Education from Bluefield State College in Bluefield, VA before ultimately settling in Washington, DC and marrying her husband Willie A. Teague. She worked for the Naval Surface Weapons Center as a Physical Scientist until retiring in 1985 after 30 years of federal government service. Kate was a long time supporter of various charitable organizations to include Susan G. Komen, Wounded Warriors, and D.C. Cancer research. Survivors include her son Christopher A. Teague and daughter-in-law Molakai, Las Vegas, NV; brother Garnell Simmons, Clinton, MD; niece Ingrid D. Simmons, Washington, DC; grandsons Christian Teague, Hampton, VA and Sterling Young, Orlando, FL as well as a host of relatives in various cities and states. Kate was preceded in death by her husband Willie. Services will be held at Fort Lincoln Funeral Home, 3401 Bladensburg Rd., Brentwood, MD on Saturday, April 13, Visitation 10 a.m. until Service at 11 a.m. Interment Rock Creek Cemetery.
