IRVIN I. SISLER  

Irvin I. Sisler, 89, formerly of Falls Church, VA, died Monday, July 15, 2013 at his home in New Market, VA, surrounded by his loving wife of 66 years, Pauline, and his daughters, Rita Sherbondy of Carlisle, PA, Vicki Buford of Kinards, SC, Wendy Laub of Sterling, VA. Before retiring to New Market, Mr. Sisler was President of Sisler Stone, Inc. in Falls Church.
 
Originally from Harrisonburg, VA, Mr. Sisler was a World War II naval veteran, having served as a gunner's mate aboard three different vessels. He was active in attending annual reunions of the destroyer USS Harry E. Hubbard (DD748). He was also a member of American Legion Post 166 of New Market, Eagles Aerie No. 4264, the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Loyal Order of Moose. He was a plank owner of the National Navy Memorial.
 
In addition to his wife and daughters, Mr. Sisler is survived by a brother, Charles B. Sisler, also of New Market; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
 
Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m., Friday, July 19 at the Theis Funeral Chapel in New Market. Funeral services will be held at the Manor Memorial United Methodist Church in New Market on Saturday, July 20 at 2 p.m., Dr. Larry Sherbondy will preside. The interment will follow at Emmanuel Lutheran Cemetery, New Market. Friends and family are invited to a reception following the services at Shenvalee Golf Resort.
