On February 14, 2013, Laurin L. Dick passed away at his home with his family by his side.
Mr. Dick was born in Hawaii in 1937 and spent his formative years living with his family on various Army bases throughout the United States as well as Japan and Germany. He attended the Virginia Military Institute and made the U.S. Army his career for close to ten years.
In 1961 he married Jutta Kaminski of Lenggries, Germany and later they made their home in Springfield, Virginia where he worked at Georgetown University Hospital until his retirement in 1995.
He was a loving and devoted husband to his wife of 51 years, Jutta Dick; and a caring and supportive father to his four children, Holly Morello (David), Joan Knisely (Jeff), Heidi Funkhouser (Michael) and Paul Dick (Emily); as well as his five grandsons, Max, Luke, Cosmo, Lawson and Calvin. He was preceded in death by his brother, William White Dick, III (Eleanor).
Laurin (Dad/Grandad) touched our lives beyond compare and he will live in our hearts forever.
A funeral service at Arlington National Cemetery will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
