LOFTON H. WHITE (Age 78)  

On December 7, 2012 in Warrenton, VA. He was born in Nashville, Arkansas and graduated from the U.S. Military Academy in 1957. He was honorably discharged as a Captain and moved to Warrenton in 1964, where he was a custom homebuilder, realtor, and cattle farmer. He was a longtime supporter of the American Cancer Society, and was the first non-Catholic elected as the PTA president of St. John's School. He converted to Catholicism in 1972, served for many years as a Eucharistic minister, and was a fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus. His wife of 43 years, the former Joan McAllister of La Plata, MD, died in 2001, and his wife of five years, the former Shielda Breeden, died in 2011. He is survived by five children, Beth Delaney of Philadelphia, PA, Ken White of Alexandria, VA, Steve White of Plano, TX, Peter White of Arlington, VA and Mari Lu Shore of Ft. Knox, KY; and by 14 grandchildren. Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Friday, December 14 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Moser Funeral Home, 233 Broadview Avenue, Warrenton VA, and for a Mass of Celebration of Christian Life on Saturday, December 15 at 10 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 271 Winchester St., Warrenton, VA.
