LOIS EDGAR Obituary

LOIS JEAN PRICE EDGAR (Age 89)
Of Arlington, Virginia died Friday, July 25, 2014. She was born to the late Charles and Marie Price of Swissvale, Pennsylvania May 17, 1925. Lois graduated from Swissvale Senior High School in 1943 and went on to marry her sweetheart since middle school, William (Bill) R. Edgar for a union lasting over 69 years. Lois and Bill spent the next thirty years as an Air Force family, with duty stations throughout Europe and the US Eastern Seaboard. During those happy and exciting years the couple had two children, James and Lori, both of whom were with her on the day of her death.  Lois was active throughout her life beginning as a roller skater and majorette and continuing as a leader in Military Wives' Clubs, matron to the troops and their families, and member of the United Presbyterian Church.  Upon retiring from the military, Lois and Bill settled in Northern Virginia where they remained, excepting trips to Acapulco, Geneva, Alaska, Arizona, Colorado, California, and cities across the USA. One of her greatest joys was the time spent at their beach condominium in Bethany Beach, Delaware. Often she would pick blackberries and peaches with her young grandchildren and then make for them delicious treats to the delight of all. Lois' skills in the kitchen were legendary. Lois is survived by her husband Bill, her son James of Falls Church, Virginia, her daughter Lori of McLean, Virginia, three grandchildren, and a great grandson.  A service honoring her life will be held Tuesday July 29, 2014 at Little Falls Presbyterian Church, 6025 N. Little Falls Road, Arlington, Virginia 22207, beginning at 1 p.m. Funeral services at Fort Myer Chapel and Interment at Arlington National Cemetery will be held at a later date. Uncle Bill, Lori & Rob, Jamie & Janelle,
Words cannot express how sad it was to learn of Aunt Lois' death. She was my favorite aunt and I'll never forget all the wonderful times spent together as a child thru recent years enjoying her charm, laughter, gracious hospitality and cooking!! She lived a full life and is now finding comfort in the arms of our Lord and Savior. May He bring you peace during this time of sorrow.
