MARK ALFRED WURM  

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mark Alfred Wurm on February 25, 2014. Mark was born in Pine City, MN on August 22, 1952. He attended Pine City High School and graduated as salutatorian in 1970, followed by the University of Minnesota where he graduated with a BSEE degree with honors in 1974. He later attended William Mitchell Law School and received a Juris Doctor (JD) in patent law in 1984. In 1988, he relocated with his family to Fairfax County, VA. In 1990, Mark joined IBM Federal Systems, which was ultimately acquired by Lockheed Martin, where he worked for over 16 years specializing in patent and intellectual property law.
He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hiking, gardening, and bee-keeping. One of his favorite hobbies was operating and maintaining John Deere tractors and cars. In his spare time, he enjoyed making specialized writing pens for family and friends. Mark was passionate about world travel, visiting multiple locations including Alaska, Austria, Germany, Italy, and the Caribbean with his wife Camille.
Mark is survived by his wife of over 16 years, Camille; his three children Aaron Wurm, Dr. Alex Wurm, and Jolyn Green; their spouses Megan Wurm, Ashley Schulte, and Matthew Green; his three step-children, Robert Cecchino, David Cecchino, and Alanna LoGioco; their spouses Gina Cecchino, Chinda Niamsun (fiancée) and Brandon LoGioco, and 15 grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at FAIRFAX MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 9902 BRADDOCK RD., FAIRFAX, VA 22032, on Sunday, March 2, 2014 from 6 to 8 p.m. Mass will be held at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church, 6720 Union Mill Rd., Clifton, VA 20124 on Monday, March 3, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. will burial to follow at Fairfax Memorial Park.
