DuBOIS McCLELLAN A. DuBOIS "Guy" (Age 64) On Wednesday, April 10, 2013, McClellan A. "Guy" DuBois, Age 64, died at the Sunrise of Fair Oaks Assisted Living Facility in Fairfax, VA, after a nearly year-long battle with cancer. Mr. DuBois was the beloved husband of Lynn for 29 years and the devoted father of Megan and David. Guy was also survived by his sister, Ardythe Ball, of Marietta, Georgia. Mr. DuBois most recently was the General Partner of The DuBois Group, a consulting organization which focused on economic and national security issues. Before assuming his position at The DuBois Group, Mr. DuBois was Vice President of Operational Technologies and Solutions (OTS) at Raytheon Corporation and the CEO of Raytheon UTD, a fully owned subsidiary. Prior to this, Mr. DuBois was Vice President for Business Development and Strategic Planning at Raytheon. Mr. DuBois joined Raytheon in 1999 after more than 26 years with the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), retiring as a member of the CIA's Senior Intelligence Service. In the late 1970s, he was CIA's Senior Economist on Asia. After a tour on the CIA's Presidential Support Staff where he helped write the President's Daily Brief, Mr. DuBois was appointed Chief of CIA's Japanese Analysis Branch. In the mid-1980's, Mr. DuBois was appointed Special Assistant to the Under Secretary of Commerce for International Trade. In 1985, Mr. DuBois was named Chief of CIA's Technology Transfer Analysis Center and Chairman of the Director of Central Intelligence's (DCI) interagency Technology Transfer Intelligence Committee. In the position, he was the Director's focal point for issues related to export controls, industrial espionage, and foreign technology developments. In 1990, Mr. DuBois was appointed Director of Operations and Tasking for the national imagery constellation where he managed day-to-day customer requirements for imagery support from the US classified systems. With the DCI's decision in 1995 to form the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency (NGA), he was selected as Deputy Director of the Customer Support Office. Mr. DuBois held a BA in Economics from Washington & Jefferson College, an MA in Economics from Ohio University, and was a graduate of the Harvard University Seminar on National Security Policy. He was the author of several articles and speeches on international exchange rates, the Japanese economy, industrial espionage, the craft of intelligence, the policy and technology behind imagery support, and the history and structure of the US Intelligence Community. His awards included the DCI Citation for Management of Imagery Resources during the Gulf War, the NGA Distinguished Civilian Service Award, and the DCI Career Intelligence Medal. Mr. DuBois was a Trustee of Washington & Jefferson College and a Trustee of the Ohio University Foundation. A "Celebration of Life" Service will be held in the Parish Center of St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 11900 Lawyers Rd, Reston, VA, on Saturday, April 27, 2013.
