A resident of Riderwood Village passed away December 22, 2013. She was born October 1, 1925 to the late George and Pauline Rutter Mearig. She graduated from Buffalo State in 1947, earned her Master's Degree from Perdue University in 1953, and then became a Professor of Home Economics at the University of Maryland. After leaving the University she taught at High Point High School until her retirement in 1978. In 1963 she married John T. Baldwin, Sr. She appreciated the love and support she received over her life time from her family which included the Mearigs, the Baldwins, and her second family the Farwells.
She is survived by her step-son John T. Baldwin, Jr. and his wife Diane many nieces, nephews and dear friend Lewis Farwell. She was predeceased in death by her husband John, her sisters Kathleen Bair, Ann Oldham, and her brother William Mearig. Per Nancy's request, a private burial was held at Cheltenham Veterans Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to John T. Baldwin, Jr., 35040 Sign Post Rd., New Church, VA 23415.
