DEMAYO Rear Admiral PETER DEMAYO USN (Ret.) On December 11, 2009. RADM DeMayo is survived by his wife of 18 years, Melanie Sisson DeMayo. He will be missed by their dog, Zuki DeMayo. They rented a house in Austin, Texas for the winter, but their primary residence is in Alexandria City, VA.. RADM DeMayo also leaves his stepdaughter and her husband of Austin, Texas: Tonya and Adam Stahl, along with their children: Addison, Nolan, Sarah and Amanda Stahl. RADM DeMayo was a member of the Procurement Round table, sat on the board of the Defense Acquisiton University, the National YMCA, and served on the Board of the George Washington University Business College for many years. RADM Peter DeMayo was one of very few people in the USA, who NEVER had to write a resume. Before he made plans to retire from the US Navy, Martin-Marietta contacted him to take a position there. After he retired from then Lockheed-Martin, the was asked to be the Chief Executive Officer for the Columbia Lighthouse for the Blind." He was constantly active in the Army Navy Country Club; currently on the Board of Governors and a former Chairman of the Army Navy Country Club in the late eighties. He was honored by Hofstra University as a distinguished alumnus. He served on several Boards with Syracuse University. His church, community and military involvements are too numerous to list. RADM DeMayo became an excellent photographer in his retirement years; having been published in a national magazine. He was a faithful member of the Church of the Apostle''s Episcopal Church in Fairfax, Virginia. He served GOD for many years at this church. RADM DeMayo asked his wife Melanie to assure him that she would have listed in his obituary that he now resides in Heaven. Funeral service Arlington National Cemetery, April 26, 2010 at 1 p.m. Immediately following the funeral ceremony at Arlington Cemetery, Mrs. DeMayo is hosting a reception for her husband at the Arlington Army-Navy Country Club. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his honor to the Fairfax, Va Church of the Apostle''s Episcopal Church''s Rector''s Special Retirement Fund.
