ROSCOE SELDON SUDDARTH "Rocky"  

Died on Saturday, June 29, 2013 in Washington, DC. He is survived by his wife Michele; father-in-law Max Lebas; sister Georgia Allman and family; daughter Anne (David Winslow) Suddarth; son Mark (Cheri Muckler); grandchildren Ryan, Sarah and Adam Suddarth, and Max Winslow; and a host of friends. Born in 1935, grew up in Nashville, TN, graduated from Yale in 1956, Oxford in 1958, and was a Career Foreign Service Officer in Mali, Lebanon, Yemen, Libya, and Saudi Arabia. He served as Ambassador to Jordan from 1987 to 1990. Rocky was a lifelong learner, speaking Arabic and French, and passionate about Classical Music and Jazz, Yale, and all things French, starting with his wife Michele. He received a Masters in Music from the University of Maryland in 2008 at age 73. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions in the name of Rocky Suddarth may be made either to: WPFW Radio, Washington, DC; University of Maryland School of Music; or Yale University.
