TV News Producer and Director  
dies at 82  

Stanley Berk, 3-time Emmy Award winning television news Producer and Director, passed away at home peacefully in his sleep, October 8, 2013 after a 2 year, courageous battle with cancer. Reunited with his daughter, Jennifer Winslow Berk, in Heaven, Stanley is survived by his wife, Priscilla, sons, Peter, Jay and Daryl; granddaughters, Natalie, Jennifer and Lauren; and daughters-in-law Leslie, Sherry and Rita. Born in Queens, New York on February 16, 1931, Stanley settled in the Washington, DC area where he contributed in pioneering a new age of television news and programming, was instrumental in starting CNN and it's first bureau in Washington, DC, as well as developing and producing other cable and network television and radio programming. He also served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Stanley Berk to The Lung Cancer Research Foundation or Capital Caring Hospice.
