PETER M. GALLAGHER, JR. (Age 22)
Of Oakton, VA on Saturday, November 17, 2012 at 9 p.m. as a result of an automobile accident. Beloved son of Peter and Dana Gallagher; brother of Maeve Gallagher; grandson of Hugh and Ilien Causby. He is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles and cousins. Family and friends are invited to Peter's Life Celebration at St. Mark Catholic Church, 9970 Vale Rd., Vienna, VA on Wednesday, November 21 from 5 to 8 p.m. and where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, November 23, at 11 a.m. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Alliance for Mental Illness of Northern Virginia, namivirginia.org. Online guestbook is available atwww.moneyandking.com

I never knew Peter but I knew his parents many years ago and his sister Maeve when she was just a baby. They were our neighbors on Willow Crescent Dr. Dana and I were good friends, but we lost touch when my own two-year-old daughter, Jane, died. I was too destroyed to maintain friendships at the time, but I always had fond memories of Dana. Dana and Peter, I can tell you with absolute certainty that although it may not seem like it now, it is possible to survive this and that one day you will be able to make a new life, come out stronger and be able to once again feel joy.
