On Tuesday, December 7, 2010. She is survived by three daughters, India, Quiana and Alicia; four grandchildren; her mother Brenda; two brothers; four sisters; a host of other relatives and friends. Viewing Tuesday, December 14, 6 to 8 p.m. at HORTON & REESE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 600 Kennedy St., NW. Funeral Wednesday, December 15, 11 a.m. at St. Matthew's Baptist Church, 1105 New Jersey Ave., SE. Interment Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Ms. Brenda & family: I am truly heartbroken to hear of your sudden loss. Tawanna was a BEAUTIFUL person and a true fighter. During this difficult time, seek God for comfort. I pray that His presence will saturate your hearts and minds with divine peace. Remember that God's word says "to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord". I love you all.

To the Copeland family my prayers are with you. I pray that God will continue to roll away the heavy burdens you're feeling at this time. We know that God doesn't make mistake, therefore He is in control of it all. We just have to keep Trusting, Believing, and Resting in Him. Tyrone I love you and I'm holding up and the family up.

Ms.Brenda, Tyrone, & my sweet nieces, Tawanna will forever be with us all. She has always been a fighter and very protective, so know that she will continue to watch over you. She may be absent in the physical form, but my dear sweet friend "T", your daughter, sister, and mother's spirit will remain with us all until we meet up again! I love you all and know that 17years has not changed the love I have for any of you!!
