Israel Schneider Obituary


ISRAEL LEWIS SCHNEIDER  
On Monday, October 17, 2011, ISRAEL LEWIS SCHNEIDER, engineer and poet of Silver Spring, MD. Beloved husband of Alice Grove Schneider and of the late Thelma Schneider; devoted father of Robert (Priscilla) Schneider and Amy (George) Russell; cherished grandfather of Joshua Schneider and Adam and Alana Russell; adoring great-grandfather of Dylan Schneider; cherished step-father of Karen (Michael) Grove-Deere and Lloyd Grove; dear step-grandfather of Camilla and Julian Grove, Shanna Kahler and David Peabody. Mr. Schneider started to write short stories, poems and essays on various topics. His poetry was recently published in The Delmarva Review and he also co-authored two survivor accounts of the Holocaust, and those books can be found in the Holocaust Museum. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 18 at 1 p.m. at Congregation Har Shalom, 11510 Falls Road Falls Rd., Potomac, MD 20854. Interment Judean Memorial Gardens. The family will be observing Shiva at his late residence on Sunday, October 23 from 1 to 5 p.m. Contributions in his memory may be made to Congregation Har Shalom. Arrangements by HINES-RINALDI FUNERAL HOME, INC. under Jewish Funeral Practices Committee of Greater Washington Contract.
