PAPPAS ICARUS N. PAPPAS "Ike" On Sunday, August 31, 2008, ICARUS N. PAPPAS of McLean, VA. Beloved husband of Carolyn Hoffman Pappas; devoted father of Sara Pappas Thomason, Alexander J. H. Pappas and Theodore Icarus Pappas; grandfather of Christos Icarus and Nicholas Alexander Pappas; brother of Christina Davidson and Demitrios "Jim" Pappas; father-in-law of Sibila Vargas Pappas and E. Archibald Thomason. Friends may call at the MURPHY FALLS CHURCH FUNERAL HOME, 1102 W. Broad St. (Rt. 7) where the family will be present from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, and where prayers will be held at 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 4 at 11 a.m. at St. Sophias Greek Orthodox Church, 36th & Massachusetts Ave. NW, Washington, DC. Interment Quantico National Cemetery.

I was in a newsroom in Philadelphia and received the feed Ike sent from Dallas from the Oswald shooting. I'm glad I got to know him through the
RTNDA DC Chapter. We shared a few Washington Nationals baseball games as well. He is missed.
