I extend my deepest sympathy to Mrs. Rooney and family. I knew Mr. Rooney when he was AAG for Administration and when he returned to DOJ in the 1990s. I enjoyed working with him at EOIR and held him in high esteem. My thoughts and prayers are with your family. May God comfort you and give you peace.

My most sincere prayers and deepest sympathy go to Mr. Rooney's family. I truly enjoyed knowing him while working at the same complex, several years back. He was a delightful and fair person to all. He will be missed. God's blessings to the Rooney family.

We were greatly saddened to learn of Kevin's passing upon returning from a visit to our daughter in South Carolina. We had known Kevin since Esther worked in his DOJ office in the early 1980's. Later Chris worked with him in EOIR, and most recently they overlapped as adjunct faculty at UVA's School of Law. In each of his leadership roles, Kevin brought warmth, integrity, and a keen intelligence. He will be missed by all who were fortunate to have worked with him. Our deepest sympathy to the entire Rooney family on his passing.

Please accept my sympathies. Kevin was a kind, effective, leader in the government, and I very much valued his support in my position at the BIA.

The passing of Kevin Rooney is a lost to many who care and knew him as a man of fairness and being a listener. I send the deepest of sympathy of his passing to his family, I am so sorry for your lost. My time working “with” Kevin Rooney has always left a great mark on me of what leadership should be; he had a depth of fairness, much objectivity, and having an open conversation on any and all issues no matter who you are or what title you had. I personally will miss him, God has his path now and he is in heavenly place.

Rest in Peace Sir,
