The family and friends of Helen are in my prayers. She was a dear friend of my Grandmother's for approx 3 years at Culpeper. She is very saddened by the loss.

I am a volunteer Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion at the Cathedral of St Thomas More. We take turns bringing the Holy Eucharist to Culpepper Garden on Sundays at 10:45.

On Sunday, Helen was seated in the front row (as always) and was the first to receive Communion. I then distributed Communion to the 13 or so other residents who were there for the service.

It was I as I was finishing distributing Communion that Helen had what appeared to be a stroke. We sent for help and I held her hand while we prayed for her.

At 10:45, Helen had told me that it was time to start the service. Her last word was "Amen" on receiving the Holy Eucharist.

May she rest in peace!
