On a personal level, you taught all of us what it was to be a gentleman and a diplomat. But thanks, Jim, for not only that, but also for the great joy you brought to all of your many friends-- including those legions of people at trackside who never knew you by name.

Thanks Jim for being the gracious gentleman you always were. Many of my long term friendships are a direct result of the Southern and Norfolk Southern Steam program for which you and the Claytors we owe a debt of gratitude. Thanks for the honor of having known you and the many stories and experiences you have shared over the years. It was my priviledge to share a table with you at the last few railroad shows at Gaithersburg Md and enjoy your company. You will be missed by many. God bless your family at this time and comfort them.

It was great knowing you Jim. At the Smithsonian Class you did and checking out photo spots for the Joint Trip Committee Southern Steam Special. It was great. Rest in Peace.

Your Father's love of the Southern Railway and steam trains brought joy and happy remembrances to thousands of families. The stories of his travels and collections entertained those who had the opportunity to hear him talk and will provide many fond memories to remember him by. He will be missed. Safe travels Mr. Bistline.
