SAMUEL FORMAL Obituary
SAMUEL BERNARD FORMAL (Age 94)
On Sunday, November 19, 2017, of Silver Spring, MD. Beloved husband of Rosamond A. Formal; father of Christopher (Debra), David (Carol) and James (Joanne) Formal; brother of the late Ruth Formal Wagner. Also survived by seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was born in Providence, Rhode Island. He enlisted in the Navy during World War II, and served at Iwo Jima and Okinawa. He subsequently studied microbiology and immunology, and his career included work at the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research. A Memorial Service will be held at Maryland Hall in Montgomery Station Clubhouse at Riderwood Village, on Saturday, January 13, 2018 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Riderwood Village can be entered at the intersection of Clover Patch Drive and Gracefield Road in Silver Spring. RSVP to [email protected] by December 29 if you will be attending. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Riderwood Scholarship Fund, Attn: Philanthropy, Riderwood Village, 3110 Gracefield Rd., Silver Spring, MD 20904, or to the LCI National Association at http://usslci.org/.www.COLLINSFUNERALHOME.com
