Beloved wife of Herbert Beacher Bjerke for 70 years; mother of Stuart Bjerke and Janet Bjerke Williams; grandmother of Lina Burke Bjerke and Herbert Berkeley Williams. Born in Parkers Prairie, Minnesota, née Zuehlke. Memorial Service at Lutheran Church of St. Andrew, 15300 New Hampshire Ave., Silver Spring, MD 20905 on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at 11 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Lutheran Church of St. Andrew.www.COLLINSFUNERALHOME.com

Dear Janet and Stuart,
Four years have come and gone and still I think of your Mom. She had a giving heart and soul and always wanted the families to to stay in touch. She had good stories to share about growing up with Dad, Sherman and Florence. I miss them all dearly and would like another day to be with them. I hope both of you are doing well. Not having our parents is so very sad and I feel lost some days.

Uncle Herbie, Stuart and Janet - words cannot express our sadness of hearing of Aunt Shirley's passing. There are people you remember, and there are people you want to remember. Shirley always treated us with kindness and generous hospitality. She would write us three page letters telling us what you were all up to.
