ALONZO JACKSON, SR.
Entered into eternal rest unexpectantly on Wednesday, July 20, 2016. He is survived by his wife, Thetis Nixon-Jackson; two sons, Alonzo Jackson, Jr. and Lamont Jackson; grandson, Peyton Jackson; two sisters; two brothers; nine sisters-in-law; five brothers-in-law; two Godsons; a niece that''s like a daughter, Erika McIntyre; a nephew that''s like a son, Rodney Nixon; special friend, Malcolm Weeks; and a host of other relatives and friends. Mr. Jackson will lie in state at Greater Peoples Union Baptist Church, 1111 South Carolina Ave., SE on Friday, July 29 from 10 a.m. until services at 11 a.m., Officiating Minister Rev. Reginald Jackson. Interment Lincoln Memorial Cemetery. www.stewartfuneralhome.com

Days have passed and it is still so unreal. I know you're in heaven with Mack, Russell, and Tommy and there are no more worries or cares. You will really be missed. Uncle Jack you were my second Dad. I will miss your advice and you calling me after I get home from work to make sure I made it in. Thank you for stepping in and taking the Grandfather role towards my two sons. You've been there more times than I can count throughout my life regardless of the situation.
