I have been through the valley of weeping, The valley of pain and sorrow;
But the GOD of all comfort was with me, At hand to uphold and sustain.
Earth has no sorrow that heaven does not feel.
RIP My beloved brother, I will see you again.

Words can not begin to express my sadness. I've known the family since I was a child and grew up with Charles as the crazy uncle of my best friend (Michelle, RIP). He was great at giving us the raw truth about everything in life and could always make you laugh no matter what the situation. It was been a blessing and honor to have known such a person. In God's name we praise that his life was not in vain and many were touched. I have nothing but wonderful memories and look forward to meeting again one day. Loving my second family always.

To The Hicks Family,
Sorry for your loss. Charles was a nice man and a true friend to those who knew him. He was one of the first friends I met when my family moved on 18th Place in the late 60s. Those were the good old days when we gathered on my front porch with our drinks, smokes (Winstons), laughed and joked with each other. Charles will be truely missed but never forgotton. RIP my brother.

No weapons formed against me shall prosper. I dont have to worry about a thing. I told the storm. Im more than a conqueror through Jesus Christ and he is gonna bring me out alright. Oh yes he is. Its amazing grace thats brought me safe thus far and grace is going to lead me home. I stood on solid ground and told my storm and you need to tell your storm today. Oh wind stop blowing. Flood Stop flowing. Lighting stop flashing. Brakers stop bashing. Darkness go way. cloud move away. Death cant shake me, Job cant make me, Bills cant break me,disease cant take me. You cant drown me. My God surrounds me. Thats what I told the storm. RIP DAD....I LOVE YOU ALWAYS. My Friend. HAPPY FATHERS DAY TO YOU!!!!!! WE LOVE YOU SO MUCH. YOU TRUELY WILL BE MISSED.

Praise Be To God,
We were deeply saddened for the Hicks family when the news came of our long time across the alley neighbor Mr. Charles Hicks. Our hearts are filled with sympathy for the shock and grief you are suffering today. We have known the Hicks for at least 30 yrs. or more. We had a community neighborhood choir that the family sung in called "The Heroes Of Faith". We enjoyed going around fellowshipping and singing together on the rough side of the mountain. A loved one that has finished their life on earth is not dead, their life has just begun. They are still with us in spirit. That you must believe. Memory can tell us only what we were, in company with those we loved; It cannot help us find out what each of us, Alone, must now become. God saw that it was time for him to come home to plant in the Garden of Eden. So he wrapped his arms around him, and whispered, "Come home now to me". When we lose someone we love, the loss seems too great to bear, and God sends us friends to comfort us, to show that he deeply cares. Keep the faith, Hold on, Be strong and Prepare to meet him again someday on the other.
With Luv, God Bless!
