EDMUND EIDEN Obituary


EDMUND JOSEPH FRANCIS EIDEN  Athlete, FBI Agent, Husband, Father  
Edmund Joseph Francis Eiden, 95, died on January 29, 2017 at his home at Greenspring Village, Springfield, VA. He was born on November 16, 1921 in Scranton, PA. Edmund attended St Mary's High School and the University of Scranton prior to playing for the NFL (Philadelphia Eagles and Detroit Lions) from 1944 to 1945. He briefly coached at Scranton Preparatory School before moving to Washington, DC in 1947 to join the FBI as a special agent.  Edmund was the beloved husband of the late Doris Arlene, to whom he was married for 50 years, loving and devoted father of Cynthia Eiden and her husband Pierre Lewis and Catherine Eiden and her husband Gavin Shire.  A Memorial service will be held on February 27 at 11 a.m. at Greenspring Village Chapel, 7410 Spring Village Drive, Springfield, VA 22150.

Dear Cathy and Cindy,
So saddened to hear about Uncle Ed's passing. The last of the siblings in the Leo Eiden clan. Your dad was a special man and we know you will miss him so much. Look forward to being together at the service.
