Hey Jay. I'm sitting here hours before our final goodbye and not sure how to feel, what to think, don't know what to do with myself, and just missing you. I've read every message posted by those to whom you've touched and every word is true about you. You were an amazing basketball player, my protector, my friend, a magnificent uncle and please know my girls miss you like crazy, you are still my little big brother. Your life and legacy will not be forgotten and will forever be cherished. As I think back on a lot of our talks I gain a piece of strength which lets me know I will get through this and with that I will make dreams we've dreamt together come true. I will make you proud of me. So as we say our last goodbye for now, I want you to rest easy Jay and tell our mother I love her and miss her dearly. As I fast forward to the future in my mind, I find solitude in knowing one day, one day we all will be together again. Kiss mom for me and take two for you. I love you forever.

My deepest symphathy goes out to Rasheesa the kids, Neka & Janet. I met jason in 2002 i went to one of his basketball games at Central High School and said we have another Michael Jordan. Jason was not only a respectful man but he was a Great, Excellent and Dedicated husband to his beautiful wife, children, family, & inlaws. When i got this terriable call about my play brother jason i felt the pain for Rasheesa, Jason kids, Neka, Janet & Ms. Odessa. Janet you done a great job as jason sister/mom in the absent of your mom. Rasheesa, Janet, Neka & Ms. Odessa hang in there keep your head up. Weeping may endure for a night but joy always come in the morning. Jason is in a better place with his angel wings smiling down on the family. Jason will truly be missed by so many people because of the good handsome well manner man he was. Rasheesa i will continue to pray for you the kids and the family i love yall. To my brother Jason rest in peace love you

To the Childs, Murphy, Durham and Easter family I know your hearts are heavy right now but I pray that peace and comfort for you. Weeping may endure for a night but joy comes in the morning. I ask the LORD to touch Rashida, her children, Janet Nika and the rest of the family right now cover each and everyone of them with HIS understanding and comfort.....to let them know that even though you have Jason that he will forever be in their hearts. Wrap your spirit around them and give them the peace that they need to get through this tough experience. Let them know that everything is going to be alright and through the healing process there is going to be good days and bad days but direct them to lean not unto their own understanding but to lean on your understanding and healing for comfort. Death affects families deeply. When we are apart of GOD's family our goodbyes are not permanent you will see Jason again.

My condolences to the Murphy family.
My heart is very heavy now. I am so hurt that it is hard to put into words how hurt I am. Jason was like a son to me and a brother to my children. He was always so respectful and well mannered whenever he visited us or when I saw him in the neighborhood. He would give you the shirt off his back if he had to do that. He had so much love for his family, especially his wife and children as well as many of his friends. I can still hear him saying "hey mom, how are you - are you ok. I would say I'm fine son and he would say you know I'm just checking on you - and before we would depart we would always end our conversation with a kiss on the cheeks and by saying I love you ma and I would say I love you too son. Those are priceless memories that I will always cherish. But I know he is now with the Angles and looking down over us saying I'm alright I'm Resting In Paradise.

I am still in disbelief. When a friend of mine told me, I just couldn't believe it. I had just saw Jason about a month ago and he was smiling as usual. Every time he would come into the Credit Union, he would have a smile on his face. May God continue to wrap His loving arms around his wife, children, family, friends, and everyone who knew him.

To My Lil Big Bro... I'm still in disbelief; my heart has a constant ache. Jay I miss you so so much. All I can do is stare at your pictures over and over hearing your voice even smelling your scent hoping and praying you will walk through my door. I feel I'm in a bad dream and can't wake up. Jay I promise to continue loving Javon, Jaelyn and Jadon for me but more for you. Although I don't know how right now, but we all will be okay. As for Rasheeha, I got her. Jay be sure to visit her one more time help her understand what it is you expect of her and give her the strength and encouragement to go on. I have endless memories of us and you would always say you got me, now more than ever I need you. Please help me get through and let me know that you're okay. I will forever love you. I am my brother's keeper. Love you more than life itself.

I remember when Jason came to central our 11th grade year. Everyone opened him with open arms and he became a joy to be around. Last time I saw him was around 2011 and he still was the same ole Jason. May his family find comfort in knowing that he is with his creator. God bless

Jason,
I can recall the first time that I met you. You was around 11 years old at your grandparents house. I can remember how polite and respectful you were to me and even called me Aunt Regina before Ron and I got married. I can also recall the close bond that you and your Uncle Ron had and how you looked up to him and how he would call you "his main man". We will miss your greatly and will never forget you. Peace be with you.
