JOSEPH DAVID FOWLKES "JD / Joe"
On Friday November 1, 2013; the loving son of John David (Dee) Fowlkes and Alita (Anthony) Adams, was called home to be with the Lord. Joe is also survived by a sister, Tinika, and a brother, Brandon. Joe graduated from DuVal High School, Lanham, MD in 2003, and attended MOTT Community College in Michigan. He served as a manager for eight+ years at IHOP. Joe was loyal and kind; a friend to most, family to many and will be sorely missed by all.The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, November 7th at FORT LINCOLN FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Bladensburg Road, Brentwood, MD 20722, where the Homegoing Service will be held on Friday at 1:30 p.m. Interment Fort Lincoln Cemetery.

Joe I miss you so much. Much more than words could ever explain. We've been friends since I was 5 and it hurts so much to know that you're gone. I can still see your beautiful smile and I still shed tears when I think of you. When I see your face I see the flashbacks of us when we were children. Its still really really hard to come to grips with all of this but I know I will see you again. I love you so much. You were more than my friend, you were like family and I'll never forget you. I remember Joseph when he was a small boy ... All the cookouts Alita would have and the fun we had with the boys ...Alita there are not enough words to express how I feel ... It's hard to find the words to capture how rough the news was regarding Joe. Instead I'd like to celebrate life. When I got to DuVal high school trying out for the JV football team, Joe was one of the first guys I made friends with. Always upbeat, always smiling, always cracking jokes, definitely making the tough 2-a-day grind a lot easier. That's simply how I'd like to remember him, not by his unfortunate demise, but by the type of person he was. Rest easy my friend, and may comfort and blessings rain down on your family during this tough time. May your memory remain fond amongst those you've touched.

Mr. and Mrs. Fowlkes and Family, my heart is sadden as I read about Joseph my former Elementary student. I remember his wonderful smile in fourth grade. Parents, you were so supportive
and that helped Joseph do well in school.
