Died at her home in Portland, ME on July 4, 2013 after a two-year battle with cancer.
Margot grew up in Virgil, NY and received a BA in History from Connecticut College. After college, she married and joined the Peace Corps, serving in Thailand in 1963. She had three children and lived in Bethesda, MD from 1969 - 1993. Once her children were in school, she worked for the American Physical Therapy Association in Alexandria, VA. When she retired, she moved to Maine (Kennebunk and then Portland) to be closer to her son, Thomas Daniel, who died in 2009.
Margot was an avid gardener and her flower gardens were showcased on several garden tours. Known for her big smile and easy laughter, she loved traveling, quilting and spending time with a good book.
Margot is survived by her daughters Susan Daffron (James Byrd) of Sandpoint, ID and Cynthia Daffron of St. Petersburg Beach, FL, her sister Kathy DeGrace (Chuck) of Portland, OR and a brother John Cory (Cindy) of Providence, RI.
Services will be announced at a later date.
