MARIE SMILEY Obituary

MARIE ANGELA SMILEY
Our beloved Marie Angela Smiley passed on March 3, 2013 at age 81. She was an inspiring woman and gave us all great joy. She is survived by her son John Smiley and daughter-in-law Laura (Redmond, WA), daughter Deborah Coulter and son-in-law James (Gambrills, MD), her four grandchildren (Amy Smiley, Katharyn Bennett, Timothy and Matthew Coulter) and her nine great-grandchildren (Jackson, Tyler, Zackary, and Blake Coulter; Rebecca, Alexa, Ella and Moriah Bennett; and Calvin Coulter). She was proud of her legacy of grandchildren and great grandchildren. Marie Latham was born March 21, 1931 in Washington, D.C. and moved into her home in Wheaton, MD with her husband John Smiley and their young family in the early 50's. There, she raised her family, had a professional career in Human Resources, shared retirement with her husband, and continued to flourish and blossom after his passing. She loved nature, painting, gardening and playing games. She was a parishioner of St. Catherine Laboure for more than 50 years. She brightened all of our lives with her love, laughter, and strength. She will be greatly missed. Memorial and funeral will be held Monday March 11, 2013 at 10 a.m. at Fort Lincoln Funeral Home, 3401 Bladensburg Road, Brentwood, MD.
