MYLES J. AMBROSE
Myles J. Ambrose, born in The Bronx in 1926, died June 3, 2014. He is survived by his wife, Lorraine; his brother, Charles Schunk; his children, Myles, Kathleen, Kevin, Elise, Nora and Christopher; his stepchildren, Michael, Susan, Tom Genovese and Nancy Iannone; 17 grandchildren, John, Gregory, Grace, Nicole, Meghan, Matthew, Ashley, Myles, Jillian, Sarah, Frankie, Tommy, Mario, Lynsey, Logan, Tessa and James and two great-grandchildren, Landon and Hannah. Preceded in death by step-son, David. Services at Saint Theresa Church in Ashburn, VA at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 7, 2014. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Myles J. Ambrose "48 Scholarship Fund, Planned Giving, Manhattan College, Riverdale, NY 10471.

Dear Myles,Elise,Kathleen, Kevin,Nora and Christopher. I was so sorry to hear about your dad. Myles and your mom were good friends of my parents Isabel and Larry Winsch years ago and were my Godparents. I have many fond memories of spending time with the family both in NY and DC. A loss of a good man who left quite a legacy.

I received this sad news while traveling from old Ross & Hardies collegues. I have wonderful memories of one of the first lawyers I worked for and my particular condolences to Lorraine, Chris and the entire Ambrose family who he loved and of whome he was so proud.
I'm sure the old Irish blessing applies and he will be in heaven before the devil knows he's gone.

We were so saddened to learn of Myles' passing. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Lorraine and his entire family. Myles was and will always be so special in my life. He was a smart, kind man, who had a great sense of humor and loyalty. It was an honor to be his friend - a natural charismatic leader, with a gleam of Ireland in his eyes. I'll not be the only one to miss him.

The Manhattan College alumni community shares the grief, and is now praying for our fellow alumni and the family at this time. The Alumni Office has been informed. As well as the Jasper Jottings community that I personally can reach. We are all a little poorer now. "No man is an island, entire of itself ... any man's death diminishes me".
