My heart was saddened hearing from Megan about Mischa's illness and then her death. It was my honor to be her Principal at Oxon Hill. She was always pleasant, charming and full of life. She had a bright future and was a dedicated educator. My family will keep her, Megan and Alicia in our prayers. We pray that God will provide strength and peace to Mischa's family and friends.

Mischa,
What a great friend and inspiration you were and still are....I am still trying to wrap my head around your passing. I look at the emails back and forth you sent and it makes your presence real. Now,you finally get to meet my cousin Eric. You were always so supportive on 9-11. Take care of yourself. You will always be remembered.

The one thing that keeps ringing through my mind, since Mrs. Ames passing, is how much I regret not letting her know what I thought of her before she passed. She was more than an Assistant Principal to me. More than my boss. Mrs. Ames was a women that I could go to whenever I needed advice, both personal and professional. She was my cheerleader in the classroom as well as my most honest critic. She pushed me to be the best educator that I can be. I admired Mrs. Ames and strive in my every day practice to be just like her. She was a women of integrity, honesty, and persistent passion to inspire the lives of many children and adults. Although my heart is broken by her passing, I will be forever indebted to her for the time that I did have with her.

To the Dorr & Ames Families,
My deepest condolences to each of you. Mrs. Mischa Ames was a mentor, friend and hero to my daughter, Ciara Williams. Ciara is a college student at Spelman College, in Atlanta, GA. As a little girl she attended Ferguson Elementary School (Accokeek Academy). She always wanted to teach at this school. Mrs. Ames took Ciara under her wings. The experiences and life lessons she learned in the classroom and from her mentor, Mischa Ames will forever be in her heart. Thanks, Mrs. Ames for giving so much to my child and so many other children.
