ANNA M. BRYAN
Anna M. Bryan, 88, a resident of Williamsport, Maryland and formerly resident of University Park and Oxon Hill, Maryland, died November 17, 2012 at Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown, Maryland.
Born Anna Maria Schneider in Gernsbach, Germany on March 14, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Dr. Franz Schneider and Frieda (Pfisterer) Schneider. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carter R. Bryan.
Dr. Bryan, a board-certified pathologist, trained at Providence Hospital in Washington, DC, and worked at Crownsville State Hospital and at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Martinsburg, West Virginia.
She is survived by two sons, Carter R. Bryan II of Falls Church, Virginia and Hugh H. Bryan of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; and two daughters, Caroline E. Bryan of Independence, Missouri, and Anna R. Bryan of Silver Spring, Maryland. She is survived by two sisters, Elisabeth Guttenberg of Ulm, Germany and Gertrud Preisendanz of Heidelberg, Germany; and two grandchildren, Paul Bryan and Elizabeth Bryan. Another sister, Gisela Forck, is recently deceased in Heidelberg, Germany.
A memorial service was held on December 2, 2012. A private burial will be held at Fort Lincoln Cemetery.
