ARTHUR BERRY DAUGHERTY (Age 76)
Of Falls Church, VA died on May 5, 2012 at home. Born April 21, 1936 in Hampshire County, WV. He was the son of the late Homer Queen Daugherty and Bernette Singleton Daugherty. He was a member of Dulin United Methodist Church in Falls Church, VA. He was a Veteran of the U.S.
Army Reserve and served on active duty during the Berlin crisis. He worked for 37 years for the Economic Research Service of the United States Department of Agriculture as an Agriculture Economist. He earned a PhD in Agriculture Economics from Pennsylvania State University in 1973. A Masters in Agriculture Economics from the University of Massachusetts in 1960 and a Bachelors of Agricultural Mechanics from West Virginia University in 1958.
He is survived by two daughters Susan
Daugherty Walker of New Bern, NC, Elizabeth Daugherty of Arlington, VA; one son John Daugherty of Fairfax, VA and daughter-in-law Heidi Daugherty; three grandchildren; one great-granddaughter and numerous other relatives. He was preceded in death by his wife Sandra Richardson Daugherty in 2000.
Funeral Services were held in Romney, WV on May 10. A Memorial Serivce will be held at Dulin United Methodist Church, Falls Church on May 12 at 11 a.m.
