David and Family,
I wanted to write on behalf of my mother, Beryl Bowen, as well as to send my own sincere sympathy on the loss of your sweet and strong mother. Your mom and my mom were "Bus-Riding Friends" to and from the Pentagon, where they both worked for many years. They were part of the folks who walked to the Pike before the bus ran up and down George Mason; continuing their workday routine no matter what the weather and happy to share greetings and chats along the way when they saw each other on the bus or in the neighborhood.
As a fellow classmate of yours from Claremont through Gunston to Wakefield, I know that your mom was instrumental in encouraging you to achieve. She was a special woman and she will always be with you.
Take care,
Barbara Bowen John
