Retired from District of Columbia Public Library system (DCPL), having served for over 40 years as a Children's Librarian at Northeast, Fort Davis, and Petworth Branches, and Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial central library, died February 13, 2013 at Leewood Assisted Living in Springfield, VA. She is survived by her daughter and son, Rotha Holbert Frye and Mark Andrew Holbert; son-in-law, Robert Edward Frye; granddaughter, Michelle Ashley Holbert; grandsons, Matthew Aaron and Mark Andrew Holbert; brothers-in-law, Harry Holbert and Howard Lawson Erwin; niece, Linda Fay Erwin; first cousins, Norvel Whitehead, Horace Carpenter, James Norvell Simpson and Laverne Spurlock; many other loving relatives and friends. On Tuesday, February 19, friends may visit with the family from 10 a.m. until time of service 10:30 a.m. at Marshall-March Funeral Home, 4217 Ninth St., NW. Interment Culpeper National Cemetery, Culpeper, VA.
