CHAPELL BEVERLY ANNE RENNER CHAPELL (Age 77) Of Harrisonburg died Monday, October 5, 2009. Her husband, Donald Raymond Chapell, preceded her in death on December 14, 1992. She is survived by her son, Michael Chapell and grandson, Christopher Chapell; daughter Denise Chapell Perritt, granddaughter, Anna Perritt, and son-in-law, William Perritt; daughter Catherine Chapell and granddaughter, Shannon Chapell; son Matthew Chapell, grandsons Colby and Evan, and daughter-in-law, Sarah Taylor Chapell; and son Donald R. Chapell, Jr. and daughter-in-law, Nicole Harding Chapell. She is also survived by her brother, Fred H. Renner and his wife, Joan C. Renner; nephew Fred H. Renner, III and wife, Mary W. Renner, grandnephew D. Hurst Renner and grandnieces Eleanor and Elizabeth Renner; niece, Anne Tate Renner McCombs and her husband, Mark McCombs. Beverly is also survived by a host of extended family and friends, whom she loved dearly. Beverly was born April 23, 1932, in Buffalo, NY, the daughter of Fred H. and Anne M. Renner. In 1953 Beverly received a BS in nursing from the College of Saint Rose in Albany, NY. Beverly then practiced public health nursing until she married Donald R. Chapell Nov. 27, 1954. Beverly and Don spent most of their marriage in Springfield, VA, where Beverly enjoyed being close to her parents, military friends and being a wife and mother. Soon after her husband''s death, Beverly moved to West End, NC, and especially enjoyed time with her brother and sister-in-law, reading to students at the local elementary school and delivering meals for Meals on Wheels. During the last three years, while a resident of Sunnyside Retirement Community in Harrisonburg, VA, Beverly enjoyed reading, lively conversation, dining, and playing bridge. A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 10, 2009, 1 p.m. in the chapel at the Sunnyside Community in Harrisonburg, VA (3935 Sunnyside Drive). A reception will follow. Interment will be in Arlington Cemetery October 30 at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Sunnyside''s Fellowship Fund, Sunnyside Retirement Community, 600 University Blvd., Harrisonburg, VA 22801, which helps provide supplemental resources many residents require to meet the full cost of their care.
